“However, we learned to quickly reconcile and forgive each other, holding onto the word of God in Colossians 3:13.”
This story has been edited for length and clarity.
Our journey has not been all bed of roses, but God has been faithful. The second year of our marriage was quite rough. We experienced hiccups in our communication skills, which led to several misunderstandings and conflicts. However, we learned to quickly reconcile and forgive each other, holding onto the word of God in Colossians 3:13. At one point, we also had financial difficulties, which caused tension and stress in our relationship, but through prayer and our faith in God, we were able to navigate these challenges according to 1 Peter 5:7.
We also have different parenting styles, and navigating this with kids around was tough. According to Proverbs 22:6 and Ephesians 6:4, we were able to cool this off by identifying common goals, openly communicating our values, expectations, and concerns, supporting each other by finding a compromise, acknowledging and respecting each other's perspectives, and finally presenting a united parenting approach.
Our anchor has always been trusting God in prayer and prioritizing quality time together. We also read books that gave us tips, which we found very helpful in navigating our parenting styles, and this have been so awesome.
Where We Are Now
I have learned to grow, to be more understanding, and to respect each other's perspectives and ideas, continuing in Love as we hold on to God in the face of challenges.
